Mam. It's been almost 3 years since God took you. That morning I just knew that I had to see you and phoned the hospital. They gave me permission to come from Newcastle and see you. You were not awake when I got there. I held your hand and talked to you but you never opened your eyes or responded. Then an orderly came in and said our Vi was outside was waiting. I went and got her. Pretty soon the rest of the family came and I knew I to leave. I touched your hand and said I would come back tomorrow. You opened your eyes, touched my moustache and goatee beard (which you had always hated) and you pulled me close and said one word......"shave". Well Mam, I did and will never have a hairy face again. Last December I went through the most horrific surgery for my brain diseases ever (my 12th) but I just knew you would be there........and you were, along with Aunty Edie. Thank you for being my Mam. Thank you for choosing my Dad, and thank you for Violet, David, Paul and Mark. I know that you are no longer in pain and I hear your voice either telling me off or having laugh every day. I love you so much Mam....... always will.
